I had this photo on the website before I crashed it and had to start over again and I had kind of forgotten about it when I was going through my photos folder and trying to remember what I had put on here.  I came across it on my friend, Jacob’s, website (http://www.jacobwcrosby.net) and I thought that maybe I should reinsert it again for a couple of reasons.

One, I really like the photo.  It was taken candidly and personally, I think candid shots are, in most cases, better than posed shots.  I like capturing people as they really are, as I know them – it makes the photos much more personal for me.  The best photos of my family that I’ve taken are the candid ones and it’s those photos that one really gets a sense of how my family is.

Second, upon reading his blog and finding out that he typically demands that the photos be deleted I was kind of proud that he let me keep this one.  Of course, he didn’t really have a choice :)   Apparently, my Nikon is quieter than all the other cameras he’s dealt with and he didn’t even know that I had snapped the photo.  Nevertheless I got a great picture of him.

  1. The primary reason for allowing you to keep this one is because of the fact that you love the candid shots, which also happens to be a favorite of mine. The secondary reason is that I actually like the photo, it is of me, being me. Well done.
