I had this photo on the website before I crashed it and had to start over again and I had kind of forgotten about it when I was going through my photos folder and trying to remember what I had put on here. I came across it on my friend, Jacob’s, website (http://www.jacobwcrosby.net) and I thought that maybe I should reinsert it again for a couple of reasons.
One, I really like the photo. It was taken candidly and personally, I think candid shots are, in most cases, better than posed shots. I like capturing people as they really are, as I know them – it makes the photos much more personal for me. The best photos of my family that I’ve taken are the candid ones and it’s those photos that one really gets a sense of how my family is.
Second, upon reading his blog and finding out that he typically demands that the photos be deleted I was kind of proud that he let me keep this one. Of course, he didn’t really have a choice
Apparently, my Nikon is quieter than all the other cameras he’s dealt with and he didn’t even know that I had snapped the photo. Nevertheless I got a great picture of him.

The primary reason for allowing you to keep this one is because of the fact that you love the candid shots, which also happens to be a favorite of mine. The secondary reason is that I actually like the photo, it is of me, being me. Well done.
