Stella Maris Chapel, St. John’s University March 6, 2010 at 00:05
Not having ever really putzed around SJU at all I never really knew about this but I’m sure that most people have. For those that haven’t, it’s a small chapel that was originally built in 1872 and rebuilt in 1915, then remodeled a couple of times over the years, most recently in 2007 (which is a shame because I would have loved to have gotten pictures before the remodel). There is no automobile access. There is a trail that you can walk and bike to, perhaps some other four-wheel option, too. I wouldn’t know for today was my first time there and Jacob and I merely walked across Lake Sagatagan to get there and back.
It was very beautiful and I cannot wait until the fall so I can photograph some more when the leaves change color.
